Paula Deen’s Meatloaf

Paula Deen’s meatloaf is the BEST meatloaf I’ve ever had & the only meatloaf I ever make.  You can find her recipe here.

I decided to try a can of diced garlic tomatoes.  They were SO AMAZING I don’t think I’ll ever buy the regular ones again.

This recipe is so super easy – Just throw all of the ingredients in a bowl & mix it all up with your hands.

Then shape them into mini loaves 🙂

Mix your topping up!

and spread it out over your loaves.

I seriously wish you could have experienced how delicious my house smelled while this was baking.

I couldn’t seem to get a good picture of it once it was cooked.  I hate how when you cook ground beef the fat runs out.  It makes it sooooo appealing for pictures. hahaha.

But, this is definitely a good ole American meal.  Comfort food.  Delicious food.


  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, ground
  • ½ cup onion, chopped
  • ½ cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 8 oz canned diced tomatoes, without juice
  • ½ cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard


Preheat oven to 375°.

Mix ground beef, salt, pepper, onion, bell pepper, egg, tomatoes and oats together well and place in a baking dish. Shape into a loaf.


Mix ketchup, brown sugar and mustard and spread on loaf. Bake for 1 hour.
