Gluten & Dairy Free Tacos

One of my favorite dinners is tacos.  However, sauces & seasonings can be questionable and tough when they’re pre-packed. The taco seasoning I have here in the house has whey which contains dairy. Some seasoning packets have flour. I figured I’d just go ahead and make my own to be safe. So, I made my own taco seasoning, replaced regular cheddar cheese with daiya cheddar cheese, and sour cream with non dairy sour cream.

I used the above seasonings to make my homemade taco seasoning. ½ tbs each – except for the crushed red pepper (I only used a sprinkling of that).

(My husband still eats flour tortillas & cheddar cheese – which is why they’re in the picture above)

Gluten & Dairy Free Tacos

Corn shells



Raw onion

Oretega taco sauce

Daiya cheese

Dairy free sour cream

Ground beef (I used 1 lb for the below taco seasoning mix)

Taco Seasoning:

Sprinkling Sea Salt

Sprinkling Black Pepper

Sprinkling Crushed Red Papper

½ tbsp onion powder

½ tbsp chili powder

½ tbsp oregano

½ tbsp garlic powder

½ tbsp ground cumin

Brown your beef. Drain the fat. Add beef back into pan & add all of your seasonings. Mix in ½ c water and let simmer for 1-2 minutes.
